Welcome to the Weekly Spark!

This is the official newsletter of The Curiousity Spark (TCS) book.

This Weekly Spark:

Note from the Author

What should we talk about this week?

In exploring the contentious label of "pseudoscience," let's move past knee-jerk reactions and consider a refreshed perspective. Although stringent criteria must define verifiable knowledge, rejecting innovative and spiritual ideas too hastily hinders progress and possibly obscures worthwhile findings. Historical cases demonstrate initial disbelief giving way to accepted principles, so approaching purportedly eccentric domains demands cautious assessment alongside intellectual curiosity.

The Game of Life and How to Play It

I stumbled across this book while I was looking for the infinite intellect podcast on Youtube. Wow! Did I ever find a hidden gem. It’s a bit long but such a wonderfully shared and structured book. The title says it all.

Lets talk about A.I.

Myself and a good friend Geovanni Hudson have begun a Podcast for Us to share about what is happening in the arena of artificial intelligence. Episode 1 is shared below, follow on Youtube and Spotify.

Excerpt from The Curiousity Spark

The following is a passage from Book One of The Curiousity Spark.

Pseudoscience

Our conventional view of the material world is constructed in a way that makes it heavy. Our knowledge is woven together into a chainmail.  Placing value on that which is present for the senses over that which is present in the mind.  When an esoteric, non-scientific, extra-sensory concept is suggested, it often cannot be reconciled with the rest of the common material knowledge base.  Something must shift creating an entirely new worldview or the foreign ethereal idea is rejected, better yet, it is labeled as something dismissive like magic, supernatural, or pseudoscience, less than other. The scientific paradigm is one of conclusive repletion of experiments to build towards greater insights. With many ethereal concepts sciences doesn’t know where to start. Nothing can be measured…

Yet, there is a world where the two opposites coexist. A world where natural and super natural are one and the same.  It's the only world.  This world. The world you live in.  Whether you believe or not, beyond the standard politically correct scripts, and what you see on the news, you are still living in a reality that has physical as well as natural, spiritual, quantum and extra-sensory, energetic influences. These are well known facts by now,  though not widely understood. Calling these influences “pseudoscientific” is accurate to a degree.  They are beyond what science can prove today. We could just a easily label science as “pseudo-spiritual”.  Science will one day prove, to its satisfaction of the material man, what spiritual mystics have known for millennia.  Till then science is showing the candle to the Sun.  Proud of that which it has achieved, but it cannot claim to know all the answers. Questions remain.

A Brilliant Book

This weeks brilliant book publish in 1925 which was presented to me in a perfect synchronicity.

Who is Florence Scovel Shinn?

Florence Scovel Shinn (1871-1940), Artist Turned Metaphysical Writer: An accomplished artist transitioning to authorship, Florence Scovel Shinn gained prominence as a proponent of the 'New Thought' philosophy. Following economic struggles amidst artistic triumphs, she delved into metaphysics, penning seminal texts such as "The Game of Life and How to Play It" (1925), "Your Word Is Your Wand" (1928), and posthumous release "The Power of the Spoken Word" (1945). These works espouse positive mental attitudes, creative visualizations, and divine law interpretations drawn from Christianity and other traditional wisdom systems. Despite evolving views over time regarding the veracity of specific beliefs, Shinn continues to influence contemporary explorers of spiritual growth and intentional creation methods.

You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream.
